Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community.

Joining the P&C a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!

Join our P&C

The need for a closer link between Gol Gol Public School and its community lead to the formation of the Parents and Citizens Association in 1905. Gol Gol Public School has been fortunate in having a supportive P&C which has implemented many programs over the years for the betterment of the school, its teachers and most importantly the students. These include providing funds for equipment and resources, the organisation of social activities e.g. Gol Gol Country Fair (first Sunday in May) and of course the general support throughout the school when needed.

The major fundraiser for the P&C Association is the Gol Gol Country Fair. The fair is held on the 1st Sunday of May each year. In addition to the Country Fair, the P&C strongly encourages families to pay the voluntary school contribution fees to the school each year. The funds raised help to provide the school with up-to-date equipment, library books, sports equipment etc. A priorities list has been established. Voluntary School Fees need to be paid at the commencement of each school year.

Parent participation is high with lunch days, reading, sports days and other support programs.

P&C meetings

All Parents & Citizens are welcome to attend P&C Meetings. The meetings are held every 3rd Monday of the month from 7:00 pm in  the school library. They provide a forum for the discussion of education matters in the school. The day-to-day affairs of the association are conducted by a committee elected at the Annual General Meeting in March.
