Gol Gol Public School offers comprehensive Recorder lessons to all students in Years 3- 6. The emphasis is on teaching students to read music and perform in a group. All 5 sizes of Recorders are taught, which creates beautiful, deeper harmonies, which takes out the ‘squawkiness' for which school recorders are renowned! The School also offers the opportunity of students to travel to Sydney and perform in the Department's Festival of Instrumental Music, which involves 900 students from around the state.
Since the beginning of 2017, Gol Gol P&C now offer a School and Community Band program which is run in the mornings before school. This involves students from other local schools and adult community members. Students can choose from a large assortment of woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. The Band performs at many different functions in the district and competes in the Mildura Eisteddfod. New members are welcome.
